Terms of Service

Last updated 19 August 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of Steer (company registration in progress) ("we", "us"), which operates Steer. Registered address to be confirmed on incorporation. By creating an account you agree to them. Current version: 2026-08-19.

The one rule that matters most: only clone a voice you own, or one you have explicit permission from that person to use. Cloning someone else's voice to impersonate or deceive is prohibited, and we will terminate accounts that do it.

Your account

You need a valid email address, and you're responsible for what happens under your account, including keeping your password safe. You must be at least 16 years old.

Voice cloning

When you upload a recording to create a voice, you confirm that:

We may refuse or remove any voice, and suspend accounts, where we reasonably believe this has been breached. Voice models are created privately and are never published to any public voice library.

What you may not do

Your content

You keep ownership of everything you put on your page, including your voice. You grant us only the licence we need to run the service: to store your content, process it with the providers listed in our Privacy page, generate speech in your voice, and display your page publicly when you publish it. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account.

Plans and payment

The free plan includes a limited number of conversations each month. When it's used up your published page stays online and readable, but stops speaking and answering new questions until the next month or until you upgrade.

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe and renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your settings; your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable, including for partial months. We'll give reasonable notice before changing prices.

Availability

We work to keep Steer running but don't guarantee uninterrupted service, and we may change or discontinue features. Steer depends on third-party AI and infrastructure providers, and their outages or changes can affect it.

Ending your use

You can delete your pages or stop using Steer whenever you like. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, that create legal risk, or that we're required to act on. Where it's reasonable to do so, we'll tell you why.

Disclaimers and liability

Steer is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows. Answers on your page are generated by an AI model from the material you provide and may be wrong — review what your page says. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date at the top will change and material updates will be notified by email. Continuing to use Steer after an update means you accept it.

Reporting misuse

If you believe a Steer page uses your voice or likeness without permission, impersonates you, or otherwise breaks these terms, email hello@steer.social with the link and what's wrong. We review reports of voice misuse as a priority and will suspend a page while we do.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and you and we submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Arab Emirates. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Nothing here removes consumer rights you have under the mandatory law of the country you live in.
